  • Nvidia Joins Intel to Bring SLi For All

    NVIDIA today has announced that Intels upcoming P67 sandy bridge processors will be SLI technology ready out of the box. According to nvidia, any p67 motherboard will be able to sli out of the box or with a simple bios flash. You are now able to sli or even tri sli nvidia biggest and badest video cards without much performance lost.

    SANTA CLARA, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 12/07/2010 -- NVIDIA today announced that NVIDIAŽ SLIŽ technology has been licensed by the world's leading motherboard manufacturers -- including Intel, ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI and EVGA -- for use on their Intel P67 Express Chipset-based motherboards designed for the upcoming IntelŽ Sandy Bridge processors.

    As a result, customers who purchase a SLI-certified P67-based motherboard and a Sandy Bridge processor can equip their PCs with a single or a dual combination of NVIDIA GeForce(R) GPUs, including the recently released GeForce GTX 580 GPU and GTX 570, the world's fastest DX11 GPUs. 3-way SLI is also available on supported[i] platforms.

      So I am confused, because Intel chipsets currently all ready Support SLI and Crossfire out of the box.

      It might be current ones, but they're confirming the newest ones.

      before manufacture had to acquire the license to run sli, now its straight from intel So all manufactures and all boards will be sli capable
