EVGA has been working endless hours to bring you this monster.

EVGA hasn't said anything yet bout this new product but sure left us a tease. The competitors such as the ASUS Rog Matrix takes up over 3 slots per card. This however only occupied 2. But it also looks to be around a inch taller.

With the power circuitry supplying a 450w per card and with 4 way sli you are looking at a wooping 1800 watt. That's just the cards themself. So you are looking at least investing in a 2KW PSU or a multi PSU setup.

It looks like EVGA wants the crown back from Asus.

Wow good luck on your quest for an 1800W PSU. I guess if you can afford 3 of those, then it shouldn't be that hard. =|

What about rest of the system?

They include two 8-pin PCI-E connectors and a 6-pin PCI-E connectors but that's for extreme overclocks. By default the card will not consume 450W. With extreme cooling and extreme overclocks I guess they expect it to.

i was talking to my roomate 'Lord Warcraft' (who is also a Class 1 Journeyman Electrician) about the power supply issue and he said that actually building yourself a power supply is not as diificult as it might seem if you are willing to learn how it's done and are willing to shop up or build the parts you will need.

You'll need more than 2000 watts for 4 way sli after you start thinking of the rest of the system plus psu rating :P

i will ask him how and post what ever i learn but i am not doing it, as OCZ makes a ZX 1000w Gold Series unit that suits my needs quite nicely.

No the extra PCI-E connectors are just gimmicks. Stock power consumption will be a little more than a regular GTX 580 because of the overclock but this is hardly a difference. A GTX 580 4-way SLI system does require a dual PSU system though (especially overclocks) unless you have an Enermax MAXREVO 1500W. This will do the trick for 4-way SLI - the Silverstone Strider Plus 1500W and Enermax MAXREVO 1350W (which has more +12v current than the Silverstone 1500W) don't have THAT much more power than the best 1200W PSUs.

Yeah. Think. These cards are just 580s. So they will need same power as a 580. They only upgrade to 8+8+6 pin is so power isn't a issue. Still need to volt mod it and all to max out 1800 in sli.

      That number is at peak.
