OCZ has kept a pretty strong hold on the SSD market since the availability of the SandForce SF2281 Sata6 controller. Keeping prices down while providing high-capacity SSDs for a reasonably decent price is exactly what the Agility series is all about. The Agility 3 lineup is geared for semi-enthusiast, and business applications. Whereas the Vertex lineup caters better to the professional or enthusiast crowd.
The Agility 3 series also makes it a a little easier for hardware enthusiasts to swap out their old clunker HD as it won't cost you and arm and a leg. And as the Agility series is OCZ's mainstream lineup, you don't need to feel like you are settling for a lesser product. At 9 you are getting a rated 525MB/sec read speeds and up to 500MB/sec write speeds. The Vertex model with the same capacity runs at only 25MB/sec higher on the read tests and 20MB/sec more on the write. However the Vertex model costs about 0 more. I'll let you do the math, but for a mainstream SSD, I think you'll find that this one performs quite well.
Aside from the 240GB, which we will be testing in this review, the Agility 3 comes in a variety of different flavors ranging from 60GB all the way to 480GB.

So far on paper, this drive is looking pretty good! Enough introductions, lets get into the review
