Soundwise, the headphones are exactly the same, and come with 5 different sized replacement ear buds, the same as the normal versions. The only difference is that these (and the headphones hemselves) are a dark blue colour. There is also no slider to keep the headphones together due to the inclusion of the controller/microphone half way up the right headphone wire.

To test the Microphone/Controller, we tried it on a variety of devices. The box said it worked with iPods, iPhones and so we plugged them into our 80GB iPod Classic and tried them out. The sound quality was as expected from the original UE 200’s, but the controller wouldn’t play/pause nor change the song. (To see the list of devices that work with the UE 200VI’s, check out the website here).

Upon failing that test, we grabbed an 8GB iPod Touch and tested out the headphones with music, Skype and the voice memo recorder. The volume and play/pause button worked flawlessly and were very responsive. The recording and call quality from the microphone was also quite impressive with the only noticeable interference was movement of the microphone against items of clothing.
