  • Dear Esther Review

Dear Esther is a new story driven, first person adventure game. It is based on a modification released for Half-Life 2 just a year ago. It abandons traditional gameplay, focusing only on exploration and story telling. What does this unique title bring to the table? Was it really worthy of a full game release? Lets find out.

Look like something worth checking out for the visuals. The lighting looks amazing!

Nice, I'll pick it up on a Steam Sale.

If that's your reason for getting it then you'll be disappointed. The caverns look really impressive with forced SSAO, but the rest of it looks a bit dated. I've seen amazing looking islands in Crysis already, so this is a bit of a downgrade in visual quality.

Well, I'm considering the engine of course.

Not many games can compare to Crysis sadly.... (still)
