windows 7 clean install

Hey guys I hae the upgrade disc of windows 7 and iv always had to do the double install method with installing xp first then installing windows 7. i was wondering do I still need to use the double install to actually install windows 7? is there an easier way of doing this

What? You don't need to install XP to clean install Win7...Just reinstall windows 7.

It also creates a windows.old folder where all your old stuff is stored.

Since you have the upgrade disc, I really have no clue. I guess the best thing to do would be to just give it a try lol.

NEver do a upgrade of windows, trust me its not that smart to know how to even think about doing that correctly.

Just download an IO of what ever version of 7 you have, back up all your stuff format and do a clean legit install of 7.

download IO? what do you mean? iv formatted my pc a couple of times already but i always had to install xp first THEN install windows 7 since i only have the windows 7 upgrade disc. what does IO mean?

Wait can't you download a 90 day trial of windows 7 from Microsoft? I'd think that your key would work.
