• Leaked AMD 1090FX and 1070 Chipset Info

Donim Haber has leaked information on the upcoming AMD 1090FX and 1070 chipsets. AMD is all ready to launch the new chipset as succesor to the 900 series in 2012, alongside the second-generation Bulldozer (code named "Piledriver") processors. The main difference between the two is that the 1090FX will be able to provide two PCI-Express x16 links, which in turn will be able to power up to four graphics cards. The 1070 has just one x16 link, which can power up to two graphics cards.

One major downer is that based on the chart below, the 10-series chipset does not seem to support PCI Express Gen 3.0 while it is very likely that AMD's Radeon HD 7000 series graphics will support the PCI-Express 3.0 interface.

Based on this info we also find that the SB1050 southbridge chip will get native USB 3.0 SuperSpeed controllers and will pack an 8-port SATA 6 Gb/s RAID controller. All ports will run support 6 Gb/s data-rate.
