A Home Theater PC (HTPC) is bar none objectively the best way to watch movies, TV, any video in the best possible quality, much like how a PC is bar none the best platform for gaming. Throw away or sell your consoles and standalone blu-ray players, and get started with an HTPC if you haven't already! While an HTPC with low end hardware won't have significant benefits in picture quality, the unparalleled functionality more than makes up for it. But in this article, we focus on the configuration and capabilities of a high end HTPC.

    "Why an HTPC?"

Some might ask why bother setting up an HTPC opposed to using a standalone player, game console, or smart TV. A smart TV still has its place as a media center, but game consoles and standalone blu-ray disc players are completely useless in every single facet. The reasons to use an HTPC are:

We spend a lot of time at our computers these days. Whether it's long drawn out gaming sessions, working, arguing with strangers on the internet, we tend to put most of our attention into the computer itself and neglect the very (essential) component responsible for keeping us, well, at the computer. High end gaming chairs are one of the new trends filling this need among gamers and PC enthusiasts. In the past, high end gaming chars were quite expensive and owning one was unobtainable for many people. Recently, as this trend continues, prices have dropped, and quality has increased based on competition! I believe there are quite a few people out there on the fence about whether owning a gaming chair is the right move currently.

In this review we will be taking a very close look at one such chair: Introducing the EWin Champion Series Gaming Chair. Before we dive into the product itself, let's take a look at EWin, an OEM manufacturer, and why their chairs stand apart. EWin is a new company founded in 2016 who's primary focus is in the ergonomic gaming chair scene. They focus heavily on product quality and comfort. They back their quality with a 1 year warranty, and a 2 year warranty on the frame and seating tray. Currently, EWin offers ...

It is time for our yearly gaming PC building guide! This time we have numerous categories based on budget. For each PC build we exclude operating system, peripherals, and display, since those are all things you may or may not have already plus not every operating system choice costs money (Linux distros).

Our choices are by no means the only ones, but these featured PC builds will help get anyone started. We are using Newegg as our point of reference since they charge no taxes for most states. Prices fluctuate of course, so our listed prices are not necessarily final.

Right now, GPU prices have skyrocketed once again due to demand for cryptocurrency mining. Because of this, we have omitted ...

Complacency caused by lack of competition, corporate greed and poor decision making, low market demand due to ignorance, are all just a few reasons why certain computer hardware industries are so behind the times. In this article we will explore which computer hardware industries are lagging behind so badly, and discuss where they could and should be by now. We will be looking at industries relevant to PC gaming, so this is an article for gamers.

We talk a lot about monitors and display technology in general here at GND-Tech. Display technology in general is not where it should be, but computer monitors have it the worst. To those without much knowledge in this area, it would be beneficial to first read this.

Brief history lesson: LCD technology is what totally replaced CRT. This brings up the first issue; this shouldn't have happened. LCD taking over for lower end markets is fine, but it's not really suitable for any enthusiast gaming or movie/TV watching. A much better technology was proposed to succeed CRT, and that was FED or Field Emission Display. SED, or Surface-Conduction ...

Old-school gamers know a thing or two about getting extra points, whether it was Ms. Pacman getting to the fruit in the middle or someone activating a “Sugar Crush” on Candy Crush Saga with 15 moves still left.

Savvy gamers know about all the ways to get bonus points for the things they buy and the games they play, too. Reward programs are great for giving ...

The Mobi is unlike most other SD cards. Whilst it still saves photos in the normal way, it lets you access them in a completely different way. Included in the card is a WiFi hotspot that you can access with a smartphone or tablet app (IOS / Android / Kindle Fire). The process is extremely simple; all you have to do is pair your smartphone to the card using the 10 digit ...
